Community First Health Responders (CFHR) Training
In 2025, Sarathi Nepal, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Nepal and the
National Health Training Center (NHTC), Ministry of Health and Population, implemented the
Community First Health Responders (CFHR) Training in five local governments of Lumbini Province,
covering Dang and Rolpa districts. The program trained 120 community members to respond
effectively to emergencies, providing hands-on skills in initial response, trauma management,
and first aid for specific medical incidents.
In Dang district, training was conducted in Rapti Rural Municipality, Gadhawa Rural
Municipality, Bangalachuli Rural Municipality, and Dangisharan Rural Municipality, while in
Rolpa district, a session was held in Rolpa Municipality. Pre- and post-training assessments
demonstrated a significant increase in participant knowledge, confirming the program’s
effectiveness in preparing local citizens as first responders in disaster-prone communities.
This initiative strengthens community resilience and emergency preparedness, empowering local
people to act confidently during crises.
