Promoting Reading Culture through Book Free Friday
As part of the Book Free Friday initiative organised by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Sarathi Nepal conducted engaging sessions focused on nurturing a vibrant reading culture among children and youth. The project aimed to encourage regular reading habits by creating interactive and enjoyable experiences centred around books and storytelling.
During these sessions, Sarathi Nepal’s team facilitated various activities including group reading, storytelling, and discussions on the importance of reading for personal growth and learning. Our approach was designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for books, especially among young participants who might otherwise have limited access to reading materials.
By participating in this city-wide initiative, we contributed to fostering a community where reading becomes a joyful and integral part of everyday life. The sessions not only promoted literacy but also encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning among the participants.
Through this collaboration with Kathmandu Metropolitan City, we helped bring the power of books to public spaces, making reading more accessible and appealing to diverse audiences across the city.
