This project was successfully implemented by Sarathi Nepal, in collaboration with Let’s Read Nepal (The Asia Foundation), has proven to be a transformative initiative aimed at promoting a culture of reading among children. By integrating traditional storytelling with modern technology, the project effectively bridged the gap between physical books and digital resources, offering a multifaceted approach to literacy development. The read-aloud sessions and the introduction of the Let’s Read app provided children with access to diverse and engaging reading materials, significantly enhancing their language skills, imagination, and creativity.
A critical success factor was the active involvement of teachers, parents, and School Management Committees (SMC) in guiding and participating in the sessions. The project’s collaborative nature fostered a sense of community, with participants at all levels, working together towards a common goal of nurturing a love for reading. The positive feedback from participants underscored the effectiveness of the approach and the impact it had on children’s literacy and cultural development.
